Hmm where do I start on Vigilante Project? I guess I’ll start from the beginning. I had the opportunity to read the preview of Vigilante Project, and I am sitting in my chair with a mixed bag of emotions. I feel like the preview got the best of me somehow, but I just don’t know what “best” it got….if that makes any sense.
We don’t know his name and we don’t know his story, but what we do know is that this guy can kick some serious ass. I was given the opportunity to review this preview by author Chris Dickens. In tandem with Phil Morenthaler on creation and Clayton Neal, Chris Campana, Nik Poliwko, and Jarrett Arthur on art I felt something good was going to come out of this preview.
The main character has a bit of a rough attitude. His sister is gone and he has no clue where she is. He does however have a lead. This lead was enough to make him spring into action. I love books where normal people take matters into their own hands and succeed. This preview was a great jumping off point for what I can predict to be a good series.
The action art in some of the frames took me back to classic fight drawing. We had all the exciting TWACKS! and SPLAK’s! It also incorporated some actual fighting moves and not just kicks and punches. At one point our hero, if that’s what he is, puts one of his enemies in an MMA style grapple. Needless to say the incorporation of different fighting styles was a lot of fun.
This book is one of those Indy’s that I would keep an eye out for. It has the action and story that is needed to guide you through the dark side of someone’s life. If you get a chance to preview or read this book; feel free to post a comment below and let us know what you thought about it!
- Writers: Chris Dickens and Phil Morenthaler

Pros Cons Tons of Action. Great Artwork. Dark Story I wish the preview was longer because I have to know what went down in the drycleaners!

Thanks for the great review. I am glad you caught some of my “throwback” fight sequences. A man can never hide his influences.
